Designing Your Day -
The Ultimate Interior Design

 

"I'd Rather Be Fishing!"

Have you ever seen a bumper sticker that said "I'd rather be fishing!"?  Captain Hubbard, of Hubbards Pier in "Fish-Famous John's Pass Village", Madeira Beach, Florida used to say "If you haven't got time to go fishing - you just haven't got time".  "Fishing" for you may manifest as golfing or hiking or traveling or shelling or antiquing or knitting or cooking or reading or writing a book or scrap-booking or inventing a better mouse-trap - it is whatever your heart would "rather be doing" than what it you do on a regular basis.  Above - Reverend John and Reverend Alan Rowbotham are indulging in their love of fishing.  These two busy Ministers found time for their sport, because they "intended" to have time in their busy schedules in which to follow their bliss.  You can do that too.  You can "intend" to do all the things you want to do - and do them - when you discover the art of "Designing Your Day".

Living your Days by Design or Default

Designing Your Day is the act of stating your intention - each morning -  to have the next 24 hours evolve according to your general design.  Using the Law of Attraction or the Law of Mind Action as your standard, you know that what you hold in your mind as steady thought , especially thought backed by emotion, will manifest in your life experience.  So Designing your Day simply involves holding in mind specific thoughts about the way in which you would like your life to unfold, day by day, according to your plan.  Do we mean precisely pre-planning each daily event?  No – not only would that not be possible, but in fact it would take all of the surprises out of life.  No surprises = no fun and life is supposed to be fun.  But we do mean setting the tone for your day in general categories so that your life doesn’t take off on its own in a direction that you don’t want it to go.

 Do I have time for this? 

If you are thinking, “I don’t have time for this, and even if I did, I wouldn’t know how to go about it”, let us assure you that you do have time and you are already very good at it.   You are already thinking your future into existence, but what are you thinking about?  If you are just letting your mind run on at random – your basis for "creation" might sound something like this…

 

It’s already 7:30 and I’m not even dressed yet.  I do it every day – procrastinate until I am almost late.  I am a procrastinator.  I don’t like getting dressed much any more.  I never know how my clothes will fit.  I’ve been putting on weight lately.  I am really getting fat.  I haven‘t had time to get to the cleaners either.  There just doesn’t seem to be a lot of time.  I never accomplish everything that I want to do.  I should exercise before I get dressed but who has time for that either?  I hope there is enough gas in the car.  I hate to go to the gas station lately because the price of gas is so depressing.  Everything is getting so expensive. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to afford a weekly massage or any other luxury.   I wonder what kind of mood my boss will be in today.  I am sure it won't be a good one. Oh – this is birthday Friday and I haven’t even thought about a gift for the Birthday bag.  I guess I’ll put in my lottery ticket – fat chance I would ever win anyway. I am just not a lucky  person…..

 

The specifics of your internal dialog may be entirely different than those above, but for many people, the tone of their "undisciplined thoughts" is much the same.  It is sometimes whiny, frequently fatalistic and usually self-critical or critical of others - and what does that kind of unbridled negative thinking draw into your life?  More of the same, of course.

You need help to stop the negative flow of your thoughts!

Designing Your Day is a simple, cost-free tool that you can use to help curb your negative stream of thoughts.  The time you have spent for years on random, negative mental meandering; pouring over and over all of  the things that can go wrong and probably will - is infinitely more wisely invested in a few constructive minutes a day intending the outcome of your day the way you really do want it to out picture.

This little exercise will help to get you started. 
We suggest that you state your intentions for the day in the following six general categories:
 
Health.  Money.  Harmony.  Freedom.  Joy and Well-Being

 

If you Design Your Day, every day – faithfully (and as you practice, it becomes easier and more fun) you will begin to notice your life evolving more smoothly, more happily and more dependably.  It is important, however, that you also curb your random stream of negative thinking throughout the day because your morning intentions won’t be enough to counteract that ingrained barrage of negative thinking that you have been practicing for so many years.

You will have to stay conscious of the direction in which your thoughts flow - keeping them pointed toward health, wealth, harmony, freedom, joy and well-being - more and more of the time. The good news is that you have an internal signaling devise that lets you know when your thinking has taken a negative turn.  That signaling devise is the way you are feeling at any given moment.

Feeling icky, angry, sad, jealous, abandoned, invisible - or any other familiar negative feeling?  Immediately check your thoughts.  If you are on a negative mental roll - create a pattern interruption.  Take a short walk, stretch, yawn, breathe and deliberately turn your thoughts to something in your life experience that is more positive.  It will take you a while to break your ingrained habit, but just "catching yourself in the act of negative thinking" is rewarding itself, and soon, you will catch yourself sooner and shift to a more productive thought pattern more easily.

After a while,  you will notice that you are feeling better. 

If you Design your Day every day, and pay attention to your feelings during each day - before long you will notice that your life is flowing more smoothly.  You will find yourself sleeping more soundly each night and approaching each day energetically.  You will begin to acknowledge the many little “windfalls” of money that come your way in the course of every day life - rebates, free lunches, reduced costs of things you purchase, gifts, raises, lower interest rates, found money etc. and you will build on them. You will expect your relationships to be harmonious because you bring harmony into them.  You will also notice and give thanks for your smooth passages through life – the way you move through everything, from traffic to family challenges, with little to impede your progress.  And happier people will surround you wherever you go.  Eventually, you will be filled with a deep sense of well being.


 The Power of your Spoken Word is Awesome!

Your personal dialog with God, about the way you choose to Design Your Day, must be spoken in the words of your own heart – but to get you started, here is the kind of daily dialog that may develop between you and the Universe when Designing Your Day is working for you. 
 
Today, I intend to experience robust good health.  God is my physician and any part of my body that needs to be healed. I now turn over to God for the right and perfect solution.  I intend to be filled with energy as I go about my day.  I intend to feel well all day.  I intend to eat those foods and beverages that my body calls for and thoroughly enjoy them.  I intend to sleep peacefully and soundly - tonight and every night.
 

Today, I intend to attract money.  Using the Law of Attraction to my benefit, I intend to act as a magnet for money, drawing to me for the good of all concerned, enough money to meet all of my earthly wants and needs with plenty left over to spare and to share - today and every day.
 

Today, I intend to enjoy harmony.  I intend for all of my thoughts and actions to be centered in harmony.  I intend that all of my interactions with people, animals and machinery will be pleasant and harmonious.  I intend to set a new standard for harmony and peace wherever I go - today and every day.

 

Today, I intend be free.  I intend for my plans for the day to progress smoothly. I intend to accomplish all of the important items on my "To Do" list and to delegate everything else to loving people who stand ready, willing and able to help me.  I intend for my automobile to function flawlessly and move through traffic effortlessly. I intend for all of the equipment that I operate today to operate efficiently.  I intend for all of my personal interactions with people to progress with ease.  I intend to move through life with joy - today and every day.

 

Today, I intend to find Joy.  Today I intend to find laughter and fun and happiness in everyone that I meet.  I intend for my own attitudes to be joyous and I intend to attract only joy-filled people into my life. I intend for my life to be blessed with many different kinds of "want to" experiences".  I intend to follow my bliss - today and every day.
 

Today, I intend - all day - to be filled with a sense of well being.   I intend to manifest double,"Bubble Wrap" safety for me, for my loved ones, for my vehicles, for my home, for my equipment, for my belongings, for my money, and for my investments - today and every day.


If you state your intentions - gently and firmly -  in these six general categories each day, you will find yourself living your life differently.  There is no dramatic moment in which "a change" occurs, but rather you will experience a slow recognition that your life is just - better.  In fact, much better.


Remember - the "What" is up to you, the "How" is up to God. 
YOU DECIDE ~ GOD PROVIDES


Tell the Universe what you want to experience and then allow God to work out
the details for you.
